Black Friday deal!

Phew!loads of work have turned on the mute button again from my end...anyway here i break my silence...

This year's Black Friday deal was one which I was eagerly waiting for as soon as I landed here in US...Last time when i was here for the Black Friday sale I bought my Sony Camcorder from amazon.com but it wasn't a doorbuster sale...I would rather have it buy online than waiting in the stores the previous night and hurrying in for the doorbuster sales in stores...May be I am too lazy to do those stuffs at the wee hours in the morning...and more importantly i dont want to spoil my sleep which extends till noon, mostly on the weekends :)...

This time I wanted to buy a Sony VAIO with latest configuration and with Blue Ray disc playback capability...I searched the Sony sites and couldn't narrow down on one particular model as they had 'n' number of series CW, NW... and even if I were to choose one I could see that it didn't offer the latest configuration which I thought off...Also the cost was high too on each of those models...

With this, I was eagerly tracking the online sites for cheap deals on Sony VAIO notebooks but none seem to be there until we noticed one of them appear on the best buy store online link which had all the configuration that I thought off...My friend, Varada kept me posted on all these cheap deals on VAIO notebooks on the day of Black Friday on phone, emails, chat...but I wasn't one of those fastest fingers to narrow down on the deals as the VAIO deals disappeared to out of stock every now and then I tried to buy one..

Frustrated by this, I thought to go to the Best buy store @ around 10 AM (some how got up early before noon that day :)) thinking that most of the doorbuster sales would have gone by and just to be there to do window shopping...The atmosphere at the store was bustling as ppl were hurrying to pick up their electronic stuffs...I could see that most of them bought the big 52 " Sony Bravia HDTV's along with the home theatre systems...Also the blue ray players and Ninetendo Wii's were moving out quickly from the shelves...There were SONY VAIO models on display there but none were Black Friday specials and you could pick them up on any day at that cost...Checked with couple of Best buy staffs and they said there was one VAIO NW series doorbuster sale pegged at $500 which went out of stock in the morning within few mins...It had all the configuration that I thought off to buy only just with a trade off on the Intel processor not being a Core 2 duo...

Then I checked online after returning back home to see if there are any deals left out for the VAIO ones but none seem to be there...After that went to Sony show room that evening to check out on the VAIO notebooks and any deals on them...There were some VAIO deals but only few takers for them as they were running on the Vista OS...I too thought not to buy because I wanted the VAIO notebook with Windows 7 OS...

Disappointed by all this, I reached the Best buy store again to buy a Garmin GPS which was on sale with $50 off on the usual cost...But seeing the VAIO notebooks again I went crazy checking their configurations and cost...I was desparate to buy one so I checked with a support staff there to see if there were any VAIO notebooks with Black Friday discount sale...They checked their inventory and said that one Doorbuster sale laptop was still out there somewhere as the Inventory ON hand quantity on the system was showing up as 1...

My eyes lit up hearing this and I requested their store staff to check in their store godowns to see if the laptop was in there as if it had been on the display ppl would have grabbed it in the morning itself..He checked out and came up with a black VAIO laptop and said that he need to check with his store manager whether he could give it for the same price as the doorbuster sale price $500...The store manager said that the doorbuster sale today came as a package with the VAIO notebook, 1 Blue ray disc of "Taking of the Pehlam 1 2 3" movie and a Sony head set...If we could search and get the other 2 items from the store then he would be glad to give it at the doorbuster sale offer of $500...

Hearing this, we went crazy running all around, searching for the Blue ray CD of Pehlam 123 and Sony headset...We found the Sony headset quickly but the Pehlam 123 CD we couldn't find it although we found the DVD version of it...The store manager said that the SKU's on the products have to match for the system to sell at doorbuster sale offer $500 and he cannot replace the DVD version of Pehlam 123 CD for a blueray version...Again we went and searched all over the store for the Blue Ray version of "Taking of the Pehlam 1 2 3" movie..Finally Venkat found it from one corner of the store...Thanks to him for spotting it...

After all this drama, finally I was lucky to buy the SONY VAIO notebook with the doorbuster sale offer of $500, only strange thing was that I bought it during the doorclose of the store ;)...The notebook is a NW series one and it was really a value for money as I had a 700$ worth VAIO for $500...No match to watching a Blue ray movie on my notebook because of its crystal clear quality and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie "Taking of the Pehlam 1 2 3"...I am happy and satisfied on my VAIO notebook, the one which I was eagerly waiting to buy on this Black Friday sale!
