Speed Thrills but kills...
Yes very true!!! It takes 1 or 2 deep bruises with 1/4 litre of blood shed followed by acute pain to realize that "Speed thrills but kills"...Rash driving be it any vehicle has always been my passion...I never learnt from my mistakes of umpteen accidents, the count of which started increasing on right from the day 1 of my driving experience where i hit my bicycle on a milk vendor woman spilling all the milk, just like the holy abishegam for me for good fortune...Good Fortune? I got some bitter scoldings from the lady, that I had to pay an hefty amount to close her filthy mouth 8-)
While I am not riding, I take pains to be conscious about the above caption..But when I ride my bike, I don't know what goes wrong in my mind, the thought fades away from my mind and finally it takes some body pains to remind me again that "Arey Suresh Bhai! Speed Thrills but Kills"..."Thu Teri...aab kya faida en bhaton me?..damage has already been done :("!
You know, it's the desire to be in the front always in whatever I do (not just driving) that drives my mind crazy to drive faster...Seeing the road accident scars in my elbows and knees caused by my heroic driving, i feel that in all the occassions it isn't my foolproof driving but its that foolish thought of thrilling speed in which i drove that stands out to be the sole reason behind those proofs of rash driving...
Yesterday the accident count was again increased by 1 :( Again no mistake on my side except that damn fading thought of "Speed thrills but kills..." from my mind..I was speeding up for attending a seminar at 5:30 AM in Adayar and to my surprise sped on a greasy road which i couldn't avoid because of dim or rather no street lights...
Like in all the earlier occassions I was lucky again to escape with just minor bruises although deeply cut ones in my elbows and knees...Thank God! I had my helmet else the occurence of this accident would have been registered with a scar on my face...
Once again I realized lately with hell lot of pains that "Speed Thrills but kills.."
One thing I am sure is that I am living dangerously with this rash driving and although fortune favours the brave its a matter of just that 1 unlucky day that could be decisive between ur life and death...
I am trying to change my attitude towards rash driving becos i realized that the loses outweighs the thrills out of it...how abt you???
Please avoid rash driving! Enjoy living!!! :-D
