Blocking blogs???

Well this post comes as an outcry and appeal to Indian government not to block the blogging community!!!.

Government had ordered a total blackout of the blogging community as an answer to curb the bombing attacks and also as a security measure to stop the spread of religious terrorism through this media.

They shouldn't forget the excellent relieving work taken by the site
www.mumbaihelp.blogspot.com when phone lines across the city was jammed just after the attacks. This blog formed by a group of 30 Mumbai-based bloggers(youths) was of immense help to the public in knowing valuable information about the list of phone nbrs of missing people, injured people, contact nbrs of Mumbai hospitals etc., Details available in the NDTV link below

So much of passion and knowledge has been put into creating these blogs...Please do not stop this entire source of knowledge...Its an appeal from a passionate blogger!!!

Malayalam movies-Trend towards Commercialisation

I happen to see some malayalam movies like Rajamanickam,Chintamani kola case recently from www.indianbeats.tk

Being a Malayalee obviously Malayalam movies are my favourite and I don't miss any weekend movies in Asianet/Surya/Kairali channels when I am at home in India. You know ppl tend to have a different mindset when it comes to Mallu movies. Well it also depends on what kind of movies u see lets not comment on that aspect and get deviated!!!

Actually Mallu movies tend to have a nice story and artistic rather than commercial subjects...Probably that's one of the reason why the Mallu movies gets nominated for National awards...Ofcourse, everyone knows that the movie which wins the National award be it any language would move at a snail pace...Again lets not get carried away from the topic...

Being an ardent watcher of Mallu movies right from my childhood I tend to see a shift in trend of the Mallu movies...I feel like the mallu movies of yester years were story oriented subjects and the dialogues were only in malayalam...But of late with the exceptions of some good story oriented movies (like Nandanam,Yathrakarude shredhakki) we can see the shift in trend of these movies towards Commercialisation... By commercialisation, what I mean is masala subjects with not much focus on story, just go with the eye catchers like 4 fights, 5 songs, expensive sets for the songs, glamour, 1 or 2 bike/car chases, happy ending :-)

Where did Mallu movies imbibe this commercialisation from? Well the answer to that question is simple since the only industry which it could have inherited this commercialisation trend could be Kollywood industry...The reason why I lean towards this point strongly is the very fact that all the Commercial hits of Kollywood industry are superhits in kerala...Almost all the shows of Tamil movies are housefull when they are screened in Kerala...

This also explains the fact whyMallu directors tend to introduce Tamil song sequences and Tamil dialogues in a Mallu movie since they would like to compete with these Tamil commercial films which are getting popular day by day among student community in Kerala...Some instances of these kind of mallu movies are Rajamanickam, Mattupatti machan, Malayali mamanukku vanakkam, Chintamani Kola case etc.,

So the conclusion is gone are the days of Artistic story oriented Malayalam movies and modern trend is towards commercial and masala subjects with emphasis on Tamil dialogues and songs in a Malayalam movie... Is this a healthier trend for malayalam movies? I leave that judgement to malayalam movie watchers and reviewers!!!
