Rise in price of basic necessities...

1998

Last time I heard for a rise in price of basic necessity was that of Onion price hike in BJP government that was way back in 1998 if I am right...Tender BJP government which had bitter experiences of 13 days governance in last election had to pay the price for making the common ppl buy the onion for more price, since it lost badly in following General Elections.

Political analysts and critics pointed out rightly that Surge in Onion prices was a critical factor in the dethroning of BJP government since it affected the common man badly as Onion is one of the basic necessity food item...Such are the effects of rise or surge in prices of basic necessities in Politics in India...

Now I feel that once again rise in price of basic neccessity could play an important role in Indian politics as ruling congress led Government has announced for a rise in hike of prices in Sugar and Wheat...

Is this going to be an alarming threat for dethroning of this government in the next elections??? Well I am afraid, Indian political history has shown that it is a big threat for governments....Lets keep our fingers crossed and wait n see what happens....

Blockbuster movies from Blockbuster Online!!!

Blockbuster online is another interesting entertainment and big timepass in US... We got registered into Blockbuster thru online for a package of three movies with a monthly subscription of $10...Cool Deal right!!!

List of movies seen till now from Blockbuster membership...

SAW I
SAW II
Hostel
Oceans 11
Schindler's list
True Romance
Three Kings

Of these I would rate SAW series as the best movie...The only reason is because of the puzzling nature of these two movies...You are brought up to the edge of the seat by the director in both the movies...

The first half in SAW I movie and the last half in SAW II movie are thrilling...You would enjoy the puzzles put up by the director/writer of the movie...Brilliant direction...A must see movie but warning to light hearted folks as u would witness some brutal murders in the movie...

Weekends, only timepass is to enjoy the Blockbuster movies from Blockbuster Online...
Ok Folks!!! Its time to watch another movie " Lord of the Rings"....

ABCD : lower education :: OBC,BC,MBC : Higher education

This topic has become so popular one in India after our beloved HRD minister announced the revisition of the reservation quotas in Higher education. So I thought why not I put in some of my views on this topic since my blog is primarily meant for these discussions.

I had always been on the protesting side when it comes to reservation in Education. By preserving a seat for a reserved candidate, a deserved candidate is denied his future and his dreams.

Reservations hinder the healthy competition among students to get into country's topmost institutions. This would also lead to a dont care situation among the reserved candidates for education. How? if they are told that they would be guaranteed seats in IITs why would they study hard to get in those institutions?

Finally, how knowing ABCD is important in one's kintergarden education similarly knowing about the quotas in reservation for OBC,BC,MBC is much more important in his/her's higher education. Strange!!! But only in India...
