Las Vegas Trip - Feb 2007

We planned out for a trip to Las Vegas last month...It was really a great Experience...The trip was thrilling right from the word go, where in we were late to boarding the flight from Dallas to Las Vegas and couldn't checkin the baggage before 1 hour from the flight departure...Flight was to depart at 10:00 PM and we were at the checkin counter by 9:30 PM...The officials of American West Airlines said that they wouldn't be able to checkin us because we are late...

We were really bummed off to hear this from the officials as we desperately wanted to board the Flight...We requested them to checkin our baggage and after talking to higher officials in America West they agreed to checkin our baggage...Ooh!! signs of relief after this neck movement Checkin episode...

We boarded the flight from Dallas and off we went to Las Vegas...It was 3 hr journey from Fortworth, TX to Las Vegas, Nevada...At around 11:00 PM, local time we landed in Las Vegas and picked up our rental car from National and off we went to our hotel...We were really amazed to see the hotels being built in Grandoise style in Las Vegas...They have invested surplus money in each and every hotel in Las Vegas...All the hotels depict a theme in them....Be it the MGM GRAND, CIRCUS CIRCUS, NEWYORK NEWYORK, VENETIAN, MANDALAY BAY, HARD ROCK, HOOTERS, HARRAHS etc., etc., They all have casinos in them...Its really one stretch "Las Vegas Boulevard" that has all the hotels in it....We stayed at CIRCUS CIRCUS...

The next day (Sat) after having our breakfast at McDonald's we left early at around 6:00 AM to the Pappillion Helicopter ride..In this ride, they take you to the base of the Grand Canyon and provide you breakfast...The helicopter ride was really thrilling as it was the first time I ever stepped into one...Got a bird's eye view of one of the World's Seven Wonder - The Grand Canyon...

I mainly went to Vegas to make money by gambling in the casions in Las Vegas...I gambled on in each and every Hotel that we went and missed all the shows...Its really tempting to play with your money and double it...I initally started playing the Rouelette using 1$ bills...I was able to double it to 5$ bills...Like they always say, "Greedy makes a man mad", so do I...I was so much into Gambling that only at the End of the day I realised that though I thought that I was winning while gambling, actually I was losing a lot of money from my pocket...Thus I started gambling with 1$ bill and at the End of the day I lost 80$ from my pocket...I was really distressed that I lost my money...

I desperately wanted to win my money back...Next day (Sun) I decided to be early at the Treasure Island Hotel and try my luck from the casino out there...After losing 20$ I finally won $45.25...I made up my mind to win all my money keeping this as capital...I was again into the mood of losing and lost all the money till 15$...Then I thought to leave from the place as I didnt want to lose that left over 15$ from my pocket....

Then we went Bally's and Venetian Hotels...I even tried my luck at these hotels too but in vain...Finally at MGM I decided to play the rest of the money left over in my pocket (10$)...To my surprise after couple of loses, I won big money at MGM of 180$...I analysed my wins and loses..Actually I had lost 80$ from my pocket and thus making a profit of 100$...I didnt want to lose this money out of my pocket...Hence I left the casinos of Las Vegas with big money in my pocket :-)I made my caricature out of the money and after that enjoyed the IMAX movies...Then went to NewYork NewYork and Ceasar's Palace...After all these enjoyment and fun we left Las Vegas and most importantly left early for the flight to Dallas because we dont want to repeat the same Checkin Episode in LV too...We boarded the flight and were back to Dallas in 4 hrs and reached Monday at around 5 AM...
