My Trip to DALLAS
It is really a pleasure to be at one of the most developed country in the world.
Everything is different from what you see in India.
This posting is dedicated to those who would love to be there at US atleast once. I am posting this because the first time travellers should know about the procedures involved in travelling to US.
1) First plan your trip well in advance. US is a professional country ppl do a lot of planning in whatever they do. So do plan out your trip well in advance.
2) Have a valid passport and VISA to US.
3) At Indian Airport, you would be asked to check in your baggage. Regarding the baggage, there are restrictions on the weight that you carry in each baggage. Check with the airlines because it differs for every airlines.
4) After checking in the baggage, you would be asked to fill up the Immigration form. The officer will stamp on the back side of the VISA page and then give you a return immigration slip. Keep it safe.
5) Customs and security check is done on your cabin and checkin baggages. You will be thoroughly checked using metal detectors.
6) Then using the boarding pass board the flight.
7) In the flight transit when about to reach the first landing place/city in US you will be provided with an I-94 form which you got to fill in at the flight. So on landing to the Port of Entry (PoE) city in US you will be scrutinized again for customs and immigration checks.
8) Your I-94 form and passport will be verified and the officer will staple the I-94 return form to the passport. He will also note down the entry date to US and the expiration date of VISA in the passport.
9) After these formalities are done, you can get your baggage from the baggage claim carousel.
10) If you need to board another flight from US using the domestic airliners, you need to recheckin all your baggages (same formalities whatever done in Indian airport)
11) At any time the airport officials and staff would be supportive enough to explain all the things in patience. But the only thing is we need to ask if at all we sense any wrong thing or act.
